PBS Native Series: We Shall Remain
PBS recently filmed a miniseries about Native Americans. It is a five part series that goes back on Native history 300 years. ‘After the Mayflower’, ‘Tecumseh’s Vision’, ‘Trail of Tears’, ‘Geronimo’ and ‘Wounded Knee’ are all narrated by Benjamin Bratt (Miss Congeniality and better known as Julia Roberts ex), who is also a long time advocate of Native rights (he is of the Quechua Native American tribe from Peru). Each part of the mini-series also has a short, contemporary story showing how the past resonates in Native American lives today.
