Apache Tear Drop is a form of black obsidian. It is a calming translucent stone, found in Arizona and other parts of the U.S. It is composed of feldspar, hornblende, biotite and quartz. It was formed by rhythmic crystallization that produces a separation of light and dark materials into spherical shapes, and is a form of volcanic glass.

Amnesty International Report on Canada
The anual Amnesty International Report came out this week, and eventhough Canada ranked quite low on the list. Amnesty International still have some concerns about Canada. Alot of them about Aborginal people.

Native Journalist: Duncan McCue
Duncan McCue is Anishinaube (Ojibwa), and a member of the Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nations in southern Ontario. Duncan graduated from UBC Law School.

The Governor General of Canada, Michaelle Jean (For those in the US, Canada is is part of the British Commonwealth. We have a Governor General that represent the Queen in Canada.) was in Rankin Inlet,Nunavut this week for a visit. California once again voted for Prop 8 (Prop Hate) which bans same sex marriage, the only good thing that came out of the vote today was the same-sex marriages that were done while it was leagal in California are still in effect. (Which means Ellen Degeneres and Portia de la Rossi marriage is still legal)...

Why our hair is important to us.
There is a big controversy right now about a young Native boy in Thunder Bay, Ontario who was trying to grow his hair out for traditional reasons. He was learning how to dance traditional and wanted long hair. Well he went to school and one of the teacher’s aides cut off his hair, made him stand in front of a mirror and look at himself.
